THERE IS NO SOLICITING ALLOWED IN THE VILLAGE OF OAKWOOD. IF YOU HAVE A SOLICITOR IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD PLEASE REPORT TO VILLAGE HALL AT 217-354-4255.  AS ALWAYS, IF SOMEONE THAT YOU DO NOT KNOW IS AT YOUR DOOR DO NOT ANSWER WITHOUT PROPER IDENTIFICATION.  ALL SOLICITORS MUST REGISTER AT THE OAKWOOD VILLAGE HALL AT 106 S. SCOTT ST. AND ARE NOT ALLOWED TO GO DOOR TO DOOR IN THE VILLAGE WITHOUT SPECIAL PERMIT  FROM THE OAKWOOD VILLAGE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

 TO AVOID AND ORDINANCE VIOLATION  ALL PETS MUST HAVE A VILLAGE TAG AND COUNTY TAG.  PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO RUN AT LARGE AND MUST BE ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES OR YOUR PET WILL BE PICKED UP BY VERMILION COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL AND YOU WILL BE ISSUED A FINE.   NO PETS ARE ALLOWED AT THE OAKWOOD PARK AT ANYTIME.

FOR DISCUSSION ON ANY MATTER AT A VILLAGE BOARD MEETING YOU MUST BE PLACED ON THE MEETING AGENDA PRIOR TO THE MEETING. YOU WILL BE GIVEN 3 MINUTES TO SPEAK OR THE TIME ALLOTTED BY THE VILLAGE BOARD. ALL MEETINGS WILL NOW BE RECORDED.

WITH THE CHANGE OF THE WEATHER MANY RESIDENTS ARE PLANNING HOME IMPROVEMENTS, CONSTRUCTION, ROOFING PROJECTS, SHEDS, GARAGES, FENCES, PATIOS, ETC.  AS A REMINDER THE VILLAGE OF OAKWOOD’S ORDINANCE  REQUIRES RESIDENTS TO OBTAIN A BUILDING PERMIT FROM THE VILLAGE .  FOR MORE INFORMATION PLEASE CONTACT THE VILLAGE HALL AT 217-354-4255. THE VILLAGE OF OAKWOOD WILL BE HOSTING  “SANTA IS COMING TO TOWN” ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 25TH FROM 3-5PM. SANTA WILL ARRIVE AT OBIES PAVILION IN OAKWOOD, BRING YOUR WISH LIST AND A SMILE TO HAVE YOUR PICTURE TAKEN WITH SANTA.

THE VILLAGE OF OAKWOOD ALONG WITH OBIES ARCTIC CHILL IS HOSTING A

CHRISTMAS DECORATING CONTEST

PICK UP AN ENTRY FORM, FILL IT OUT, AND DROP IT BACK OFF AT VILLAGE HALL

DECORATE THE OUTSIDE OF YOUR HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS. HAVE FUN AND BE CREATIVE! 

(MUST BE A RESIDENT INSIDE THE VILLAGE OF OAKWOOD TO PARTICIPATE)

JUDGING WILL BE DONE ON 12/15/18.  WINNER WILL RECEIVE A PLAQUE

AND A $25.00 GIFT CERTIFICATE FROM OBIES. WINNER WILL BE NOTIFIED BY PHONE.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR STATE TROOPER ROBERT WOODARD JR., COUNTY SHERRIFF’S DEPUTY WILLIAM HURT, AND OUR VERY OWN OAKWOOD POLICE CHIEF DEREK WESTON FOR RECEIVING THEIR LIFE SAVING MEDALS FOR THE QUICK AN DIRECT RESPONSE TO  A LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY FOR MR.
