As previously stated please see the new Animal ordinance 15-10-12-1 posted on this website.  All animals in the village require a village tag.  Please report to Village Hall to obtain a tag for your cat(s) or dog(s) for 2016 to remain compliant with the village ordinance.  The tags are $3.00 each.  Thank you for your cooperation.

THIS ORDINANCE REQUIRES ALL GARBAGE COLLECTION FRANCHISES TO OBTAIN A PERMIT FROM THE VILLAGE OF OAKWOOD.  IF YOU ARE DOING BUSINESS IN THE VILLAGE OF OAKWOOD PLEASE REPORT TO OAKWOOD VILLAGE HALL PRIOR TO MAY 8TH, 2015.  FOR DETAILS YOU MAY REFER TO  OUR ORDINANCE SECTION ON THIS WEBSITE OR CALL THE VILLAGE HALL AT 217-354-4255.

FREE PAINTING AND HOME REPAIR!

WHEEL CHAIR RAMPS, DRYWALL, INTERIOR & EXTERIOR PAINTING, STEPS & MORE!

A GROUP OF LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS AND CHURCHES HAVE JOINED FORCES WITH TEENSERVE TO HOST A WORKCAMP IN FAIRMOUNT AND SURROUNDING AREA NEXT SUMMER.  APPROXIMATELY 400 TEENS AND THEIR ADULT LEADERS WILL BE IN TOWN JULY 10TH-16TH 2016 TO WORK ON HOMES OF RESIDENTS WHO ARE IN NEED OF HELP.  THIS PROJECT IS FOR ELDERLY OR PEOPLE WHO CANNOT PHYSICALLY OR FINANCIALLY COMPLETE THE WORK THEMSELVES.  THERE IS NO CHARGE TO THESE FAMILIES FOR LABOR OR MATERIALS.   80 TO 100 HOMES WILL QUALIFY FOR THIS SERVICE.  FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT PASTOR STEVE AT (217) 733-2366 OR TEENSERVE (800) 596-3498. Eastern Illinois Food Bank has launched a way of giving that can revolutionize the way our local food pantry fundraises. They have partnered with a seed company willing to match all donations, dollar for dollar,  through the new INVEST AN ACRE program. Farmers are able to designate an acre of profits to Invest an Acre/Oakwood  directly at local grain elevators and anyone can write a check to INVEST AN ACRE and mail it to: Oakwood Food Pantry-  P.O. BOX 236 Oakwood, IL 61858 to automatically double your investment.
