NOTICE TO REQUEST FOR SEALED BIDS - SIDEWALKS

PUBLIC WORKS VILLAGE OF OAKWOOD, IL

 

The Village of Oakwood is accepting sealed bids for the following improvements described in detail in “Bid Packets” available at Village Hall, 100 S. Scott St, Oakwood IL 61858 or by mail at PO Box 31 Oakwood, IL 61858. Envelope must clearly state “Bid for Replacement of Sidewalks”. Deadline for submission of sealed bid must be received by 10AM APRIL 17, 2025. No bid will be accepted after 10AM APRIL 17, 2025.   

Proposals will be opened and read publicly at 10AM APRIL 17, 2025, at the Village Hall, 100 South Scott St., Oakwood, IL 61858. The project is for tear out and replacement of sidewalks in the Village of Oakwood.  Winning bidder will haul off all debris from tear out of current sidewalks and correct any damage from operations.

Sidewalks must be 1.0" above grade or grade/grass/turf scraped back 1.0' and seed and straw mat.  Standard sidewalks shall be poured at no less than 5.0” thick.  Joints shall be cut every 4.0’, all edges shall be troweled smooth with a broom surface finish.  Sidewalks in driveways shall be no less than 6.0” thick.  Base for sidewalk shall be compacted and free of vegetation.  All work must meet the current addition of IDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction.

Bid packets will be available in the office at the Oakwood Village Hall, 100 South Scott Street, Oakwood, Illinois 61858. The Contractor must comply with provisions of the “Prevailing Wage Act, “820 ILCS 130/1 et seq., which applies to the laborers, mechanics and other workers employed in any public works. The Village of Oakwood reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals.  The Village in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois hereby notifies bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that all contracts entered pursuant to this advertisement will be awarded to the lowest reasonable bidder, without discrimination on grounds of race, color, or national origin.
